How to Read and Calculate Odds
Betting sites display odds in three formats — decimal, fractional and American. 99 baji generally uses the decimal format, but understanding all three lets you bet comfortably on any site.

For a favourite, odds are generally lower. For example, if Team B is expected to win — decimal 1.50 = fractional 1/2 = American -200. A ৳500 stake returns ৳750 in total (৳250 profit). A negative American odds figure shows how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit.

Live In-Play Betting
You can still place bets after a match has started — that is in-play or live betting. In cricket this is particularly interesting because every wicket, boundary or maiden over shifts the odds quickly.
For example, suppose Team A has scored 90 runs in 10 overs of a T20 match but has already lost 5 wickets. In that situation Team A's odds of winning may drift up while Team B's odds shorten. New opportunities then open up in the live market.

Multi Bet and Exchange Betting
In a multi bet, multiple selections are combined and all the odds are multiplied to calculate the total return. Say you have three selections across three separate matches with decimal odds of 1.50, 1.70 and 1.80. Multiplied together, the combined odds are 1.50 × 1.70 × 1.80 = 4.59 (approximately). That means a ৳100 stake returns ৳459 if all three selections are correct. But if even one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost — that risk is important to keep in mind.
A single bet is comparatively safer because each match can be decided on independently.
Betting Exchange: Here bettors wager against each other. If you BACK Team A at decimal odds of 1.80 — you win ৳800 profit if Team A wins (on a ৳1,000 stake), or lose ৳1,000 if they lose.
To LAY means to bet against Team A winning — on a ৳1,000 bettor's stake your liability is ৳800 (1,000 × 0.80). If Team A does not win you gain ৳1,000; if Team A wins you pay ৳800. Commission applies in both cases.
